Clarrie's Club

Clarrie's Club is funded by the National Respite for Carers (NRCP) Program. Clarrie's Club provides respite to the carer by offering social activities and support for people who have mild to moderate dementia and who are still living at home within the Cities of Unley, Mitcham and (inner) Marion (Adelaide).

When:
Alternate Wednesdays from 10.00amuntil 2.00pm plus transport time.
Thursdays from 12.30pmuntil 6.30pmincluding transport time.
Fridays from 9.30amuntil 3.30pmincluding transport time.

Where:
"Calico Cottage" at 368 Unley Road, UnleyPark.

What:
The cottage provides a spacious home-like and secure environment for care recipients.  Recipients are encouraged to participate in socialising and planned activities which are overseen by trained staff.

Eligibility:
Carers living in the Cities of Unley, Mitcham and Marion, of persons with mild to moderate dementia.

Cost:
A contribution of $6 per session includes a light meal and most group activities.

Transport:
Is available within a geographical area.  Carers may be asked to contribute towards taxi costs (subsidy vouchers).

Attendance:
Attendance is subject to vacancies in the program.

Referrals:
May be from any source.  All referrals are followed up by the Program Coordinator and an assessment home visit will be undertaken.

The Welfare Centre for German-speaking Seniors (WCGS) was established by the South Australian German Association in 2003 to provide support to older members of the German-speaking community. It is funded by the Home and Community Care Program (HACC), a joint Federal and State initiative administered by the SA Department for Families and Communities
