Budgets will work differently under the Support at Home funding program, and the additional Assistive Technology and Home Modifications short-term supports mean you no longer need to save funds for a rainy day. In fact, it’s a case of ‘use it or lose it’, as the most you’ll be able to roll over from one quarter to another is 10% or $1,000, whichever is greater. Which means you can use every cent of your quarterly budget on you and making sure you’re getting all the support you need to live the best life you can.
If you were assessed and assigned, or on a waiting list, for a Home Care Package before 12 September 2024, you may have some unspent funds. You will retain these when the Support at Home funding program commences. You can use what you’ve accrued to schedule additional services, approved care, equipment and home modifications, as long as they still meet all government guidelines for approved spending and are included in care plans.
