Important Changes to Personal Care Contributions

A comforting personal care funding update for people receiving Support at Home

The Australian Government has announced that from 1st October 2026, personal care services will be fully funded.

This is good news, as if you are a Support at Home client with approved personal care services, you will no longer be required to make any financial contribution to your clinical care.

What this means for you from 1st October
  • You will no longer pay co-contributions for personal care services
  • Other nonclinical services you are receiving under everyday living and independence support service categories will still require co-payments
  • You will have more financial security and certainty while receiving care at home
Personal care services include:
  • showering
  • non-clinical continence management
  • dressing
  • eating
  • personal hygiene
  • assistance with self-administration of medication

We know this change will make a valuable difference to people receiving aged care support or considering it.

Be sure to share the news and don’t hesitate to get in contact with our friendly team if you have any questions about how this may impact you or a loved one.
