How does Support at Home pricing work?

Under the Support at Home program you are allocated a government funded budget, also called a classification. This amount is based on your assessed care needs and will help pay for the care and services you need to live safely and happily at home.

Depending on your financial situation and the services you receive, you may need to contribute towards the cost of this care. Clinical services, such as nursing and allied health, are fully funded by the government, however contributions may apply to services under the Everyday Living and Independence categories, and the Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) Scheme.

Before your services begin, Services Australia will confirm if you need to pay contributions towards your care.

If you’d like help to further understand how Support at Home costs work, our friendly team can answer any questions.

How much will I need to contribute?

Your contribution depends on the services you use and your financial assessment through Services Australia.

If a contribution applies, it is usually a percentage of the service cost, with the government covering the rest. What you pay depends on:

        • the type of service you receive
        • your financial situation
        • whether that service has a contribution
        • the service price.

If you would like to plan ahead and work out how much you may need to pay, you can use My Aged Care’s fee estimator.
