GREATER BRISBANE LOCKDOWN & COVID VACCINATION AUDIT

Dear Provider,

Greater Brisbane Lockdown:
With community transmission of Coronavirus reoccurring in Queensland, the Premier announced earlier today that Greater Brisbane will enter into a three-day lockdown, effective 5pm today (Monday). Greater Brisbane includes the Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Moreton and Brisbane council areas.

Even if you don’t operate/reside in Greater Brisbane, this latest transmission may affect you, as this lockdown also applies to anybody who has VISITED the Greater Brisbane area since March 20, 2021– no matter where you are in Australia.

Lockdown restrictions and rules:
For more details about lockdown restrictions and rules across Queensland, please click here.

In-home care services are deemed essential by the health authorities. If you are unable to provide scheduled services, please contact us immediately via: service@careconnect.org.au.

Potential additional exposure sites:
Of current concern for authorities is also the high-risk exposure area of Byron Bay.  Contact tracing is underway, but please continue to monitor your state health website for additional information.

Service delivery PPE Requirements:
In a bulletin issued earlier today, LASA QLD called for a move to ‘moderate’ PPE levels.  For definition of this, please click here.

Please remember, as information changes quickly, it is your responsibility to continue to monitor and follow the advice and guidance of the Commonwealth and state authorities for up to date information on PPE requirements.

Important reminders for all:
We have all seen how quickly COVID-19 can spread in our communities. Whilst the wearing of a mask is a good additional precaution against COVID-19, you must always follow lockdown guidelines, and please always continue to practice good hygiene and social distancing, avoid unnecessary travel and isolate if you have been asked to, if you feel unwell, or are awaiting test results.

  • If you feel unwell, we encourage you to get tested. For up to date information about testing centres please visit your state health department website (links below) or, call the National Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080.
  • Please also continue to ask clients the screening questions, and only provide services if the answer to all of the questions is ‘NO’. “Have you or someone else in your home”:
    • Been diagnosed with Coronavirus or is suspected of having Coronavirus?
    • Had close contact with someone diagnosed with Coronavirus or who is suspected to have Coronavirus in the last 14 days?
    • Travelled overseas, to an interstate or local hotspot (such as Greater Brisbane), or been on a cruise in the last 14 days?
    • Been advised by a healthcare professional to undertake mandatory isolation?
    • Felt unwell or had any symptoms of illness within the last 7 days?

COVID Vaccination AUDIT:
As the COVID vaccination rollout continues, we will be regularly asking you to give summary statistics of how many of your staff have been vaccinated.  It is anticipated that we will need to report this to funding authorities on a regular basis.

If you require any assistance or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Stay safe and well out there!

Yours sincerely,
Eileen Keane
