Restrictions to ease in Melbourne from tomorrow, Greater Sydney lockdown extended, QLD restrictions remain in place.

A raft of Coronavirus restrictions will ease in Melbourne from tomorrow – Thursday 8 July – at 11.59pm, bringing the city in line with regional Victoria.

Masks will still be required to be worn in indoor, public-facing settings. However, masks will no longer be required at schools for students and staff, or at workplaces if you do not interact with the public, for example, if you work in an office or a factory. For full details, please visit the Victorian Department of Health website.

Meanwhile, Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, and the local government areas of Wollongong and Shellharbour in NSW will face another week in lockdown (until 12:01am on July 17) after the state recorded 27 new COVID-19 cases this morning. For further information, please visit the NSW Department of Health website.

In QLD, the current restrictions remain in place until next Friday – including the wearing of face masks and gathering (including visitor) restrictions for vulnerable persons facilities such as hospitals – across the South East, Townsville, Magnetic Island and Palm Island. Stay up-to-date through the QLD Department of Health website.

The safety and wellbeing of our clients, care workers and staff remain a priority for Care Connect. We will continue to follow the guidelines of the Commonwealth and State health authorities when delivering in-home care and support in NSW, QLD and VIC.
