Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care

If you (or someone you care for) are an older person from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background, Care Connect are here to support you with government-funded aged care services tailored specifically for you.

If you speak a language other than English, you can connect with us via the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National).  Just call 131 450, and ask to be connected to Care Connect on 1800 692 464. It costs the same as a local call.

TIS has translators available covering more than 100 languages and My Aged Care can also provide aged care information, printable brochures, posters and spoken information in other languages. Visit their website here.

There are also organisations in each state and territory that work as part of the Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) program to support aged care providers to deliver culturally appropriate care to older people from CALD communities, and help older CALD people and their families make informed decisions about their aged care needs. They also run a range of activities including training, information sessions, and workshops.
