A message from Care Connect’s new CEO, Lynda Chalmers.

Delivering safe, personalised and connected in-home care, with a relentless focus on client wellbeing, is at the heart of what we do at Care Connect. As its new CEO, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself, share how excited I am to be joining Care Connect in 2024, and communicate our continued commitment to supporting you to stay as independent as possible at home, and in your community.

After having begun my career in community nursing, driven by my own personal challenges of navigating the healthcare delivery system, I step into this new role with more than three decades of experience working in health, community, disability and aged care, in both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors.  Most recently, I was the Aged Care Strategy and Transformation Lead at Mercy Health. Prior to this, I held various senior leadership roles including National Manager of Home Care and Seniors Living at Mercy Health, and Business Manager Home Care for Royal Freemasons Ltd.

As one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit in-home care providers, Care Connect has supported more than 85,000 people in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. Watching Care Connect grow from the sidelines, I have long admired its hallmarks of personalised and connected care, as well as the deep level of trust that the organisation has built with its clients, their loved ones, and our provider partners.

2024 brings the next phase in Care Connect’s evolution as new aged-care reforms are introduced, and we celebrate our 30-year anniversary (more on that over the next few months).

I am committed to building genuine connections between our clients, families and carers, our staff and partner providers. I aim to inspire a values-driven, diverse culture, and by working closely with the experienced team at Care Connect, want to ensure we continue to be a voice for our communities. The people that entrust us with their care will remain supported, connected, and at the heart of everything we do.

In closing, I want to acknowledge Paul Ostrowski, whose steadfast leadership over the past 13 years has been instrumental in preparing Care Connect for a strong future. I also want to acknowledge all of the staff here at Care Connect who have ensured the continuity of your care and services during this leadership transition.
